2006 Consumer Advocate
of the Year
Brian

Consumer
Advocate/Liaison, has
been recognized as the
“2006 Consumer
Advocate of the Year” by
a consensus of
Sacramento area mental
health consumers.
The award was jointly
presented to Mr.
Bratcher during the
Consumer Speaks
Conference held on
August 10, 2006 at the
Oak Park Community
Center in Sacramento.
The award presenters
were Andrea Hillerman,
Consumer Advocate
Liaison with the Mental
Health Association
Sacramento Chapter, Ann
Edwards-Buckley, MFT,
Director of the County
of Sacramento Mental
Health Division, and
Susan Gallagher,
Director of the Mental
Health Association.
Mr.
Bratcher was praised for
his valuable
contributions to the
mental health community
at a grass roots level
and his active
participation in county
and statewide forums.
As an advocate, Brian
Bratcher has been
actively involved in the
review process related
to the passage of the
state Mental Health
Services Act as a voice
for consumer concerns
and in supporting
consumer participation.
At the grass roots level
he is very knowledgeable
about community
resources, has supported
many individuals through
their personal recovery,
and is a staunch
supporter of empowering
individuals to move
forward in their lives.
