Overview/History


Evidence-based depression intervention program designed to reduce the symptoms of depression and improve the quality of life among older adults


  • Funded by the Mental Health Services Oversight & Accountability Commission (MHSOAC)
  • Developed and facilitated by University of Washington
  • New in Sacramento County
  • In partnership with: Agency on Aging Area 4, ACC Senior Services, Resources for Independent Living, Society for the Blind, El Hogar Community Services.

Who We Serve & Eligibility


  • 60 years of age an older
  • Reside in Sacramento County
  • Individuals experiencing
  • minor depression;
  • major depression; and/or 
  • persistent depressive disorder

Services Provided


  • Coaching/Case management
  • Services are conducted in the home or community setting (meeting people where they are)
  • 6-8 sessions for 5-6 months

 - Weekly, then bi-weekly, then monthly

  •  After session completion, monthly follow up calls are made for the next 3-4 months
